Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine has been used for centuries in China, where herbs are considered fundamental therapy for many acute and chronic conditions. There are 5,767 medicinal substances currently in use such as roots, leaves, flowers, and minerals that treat a wide range of health conditions. These medicinal substances are often combined into formulas and prepared as teas, powders, pills, or topical ointments.

Chinese herbal formulas are typically customized to the individual’s specific condition and constitution. As a TCM practitioner, I choose the herbal formula whose essence, or signature energy vibration, correctly stimulates or adjusts the body’s own energy vibration. The herbs used in the formulas are chosen based on their therapeutic properties, as well as their ability to work synergistically with other herbs in the formula.
