Dr. Jun Huang

Dr. Jun Huang is a Chinese Medicine specialist, who has developed a discrete but effective clinical practice in Portugal. Dr. Jun was initially drawn to Chinese Medicine after studying Chinese Literature, which started her interest in the great classical texts of this medical tradition, dating back as much as two thousand years. After meeting her present Master, she also studied modern-day Chinese Medicine, currently used in the People’s Republic of China, and she is also a specialist in Tung’s Acupuncture Method, an ancient method which is deeply connected to Taoist philosophy. Traditional acupuncture requires a strong commitment and involvement of the practitioner, unlike the more standardised and recent acupuncture methods. In her day-to-day practice, she combines both methods, in a non-dogmatic way, for the greater benefit of her patients. She is also specialist in prescribing standard and classical herbal formulas, as well as creating formulas directed specifically at a patient’s particular situation, in an individualised way.

Dr. Jun graduated from Guangxi University with a diploma in Chinese Language and Literature, and later graduated from Xiamen Universitywith a diploma in Chinese Medicine, and a specialisation in Acupuncture and Moxibustion. She is also the recipient of a Tui-Na Therapeutic Massage certificate from the Chinese Work Ministry.

Dr. Jun did her practical training at Xiamen University Hospital, and she also did a special study in Chinese Medicine, under the famous Master Gao Ji Ping.

Dr. Jun is a student of Dr. Chuan Ming-Wan, one of the direct disciples of Dr. Tung, the systematiser of the centuries old Tung Method of Acupuncture, an ancient Daoist Medical method.
